Staff

ASA staff (Adventure Guides) are trained individuals committed to caring for your children during the hours they are in our care. They uphold biblical standards, as well as standards set by Washington State Childcare Laws.

Director: Stacy Smith

Stacy is a 30-year veteran of Christian camping. She, along with other Firs staff members, founded the After School Adventure Program in 2000, as a means to give children of working parents a place that could be second to home, where they would have enriching and exciting adventures. “Play is the work of heaven and we experience that every day at ASA.”

Program Coordinator: Dana Chauvin

Dana “Burkey McBurkBurk” Chauvin graduated from Youngstown State University in Ohio in 2009, with a degree in theater. During college, she also worked at Camp Burton in Ohio. Two months after graduating from college, Dana made the move to Bellingham to be an intern at the ASA program. After the second year of her internship, Dana made the decision to stay on staff full-time. Dana loves her time at ASA, getting to know the kids and families, as well as the extra fun that comes with her job, like the Jr. Ski to Sea Race and Super Hero 5k!
