meet our staff…
Stacy Smith (aka “Gumbo”), ASA Director, co-founded the ASA program in 2000. Stacy is married to Darell “Bubba” Smith and they have served together at The Firs since 1986 and have three grown children.
Understanding the challenges of working parents, Stacy has always strived to create a place where children want to be if they can’t be with mom or dad; a place where children are loved, listened to, guided and encouraged to be their best selves.
“It has been my honor to lead this ministry, over the years; to serve families with care, love and compassion, and a privilege to partner with parents as they raise their children.”
ASA Site Coordinator
Dana Chauvin (aka “Burkey”) served ASA for two years as an intern and then as the Program Leader and Assistant Director since 2013. She is gifted and talented, sharing her creativity to make us better!
Dana brings our Bible time alive with great stories, drawing from her theater background; kids listen with anticipation. She is also a popular author of young adult book series.
Adventure Guides are what make the ASA program so popular! Our staff are committed to the development of a child’s social, emotional, physical and spiritual well being.
We choose our staff with your children in mind; young adults who display Character, Leadership, Wisdom, and Fun.
Adventure Guides are State Certified by DCYF and cleared through an extensive Background Check.
